Hi, y’all! My name is Katrina. I am originally from Texas and transplanted to Utah because of the good people and beautiful mountains. I am a student at Capella University and in my last year of studying Marriage and Family Therapy. I have a deep passion for helping people discover how to strengthen their ability to connect with others and enhance their intimate and family relationships. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and the ability to grow and blossom, notwithstanding life’s challenges, hardships, and adversities.
Having personally used therapy as a tool to address times of transition, attend to trauma, improve my parenting skills, and move toward greater peace, I am aware of the concerns and reservations that come with being vulnerable and opening up to a therapist. I enjoy working with young adults wanting to work on relationship skills/communication/connection, premarital and newlywed relationship work, parenting challenges, and family/life transitions.
I know of the despair when life seems too much, and I have experienced the genuine peace that comes with changing perspectives and behaviors and learning to genuinely love others. I understand that people cultivate change in their lives when they become aware of the need to adjust and are ready to do the necessary work.
In my everyday life, I enjoy working out with my husband, playing card games with my three grown children and daughter-in-law, and being silly with my grandchildren every chance I get. I also enjoy making happy memories with people I love, hiking, book clubs, traveling, playing the piano, and learning new things.
